Snetterton serves up some excellent racing to start the 2017 CRMC race season...and a special guest in the form of our good friend Alex George, ex TT champion, Grand Prix racer and all-round good chap, who couldn't resist the temptation of some good ol' classic bike racing, despite the cold and weather. Thanks for coming Alex and congratulating some of our worthy winners on the podium
Snetterton was a bit chilly but started dry on Saturday. There was an excellent entry of over 250 competitors who braved the early start to the season to get out on track. Practice and the first half of the race program were successfully completed, but sadly the weather deteriorated later on Saturday afternoon and the Clerk of the Course had to make the difficult decision to suspend racing as the marshals were working hard in difficult conditions to clear some oil spillages, made more problematic by heavy rain.
Sunday was dry but cold and windy, which meant all races were staged and went the full distance. The famous Classic Race of Aces once again served up a great scrap over 10 laps between as Tom Norton, Lee Hodge and Michael Cooper scrapped for podium places after George Hogton-Rusling showed everyone how good he is on the big Suzuki XR69. Alex George visited on both days and kindly helped award trophies and prize money on the podium.
You can see all the results on the Results page, and we'll add the fist Championship Results in the next few days.
Meanwhile, here are some videos from the event (if you have a video from this event, let us know):
