RIP Fran Fletcher
"We were all so shocked and saddened when told that Fran Fletcher had been killed in the accident on Saturday afternoon whilst racing her Honda 350 K4. Fran also raced her Yamaha FZ600 in the CRMC Junior Production Championship and on Sunday when racing resumed, many fellow competitors had asked for a 1-minute silence before the Production Race that Fran would have raced.
So, before the race all the Production machines rode slowly round the circuit behind a course car with the marshals, the doctors, the paramedics and the ambulance crews standing beside the track, flags lowered and clapping as a mark of respect. When the course car and bikes reached the point where Fran had crashed, they stopped and cut their engines. There was complete silence across the whole circuit as we all remembered Fran. After the minute's silence, all the riders and crowd clapped, showing their respect for Fran's memory. It was very moving and respectful of Fran's memory.
After possibly the worst race weekend we have ever had, and hearing so many kind words about Fran and also how the club responded after the dreadful crash, I thought we should open this 'Book of Condolences' where people can leave their thoughts of Fran and prayers to pass on to Fran's family. I hope it might be some small comfort to them in this dreadfully sad time.
Thank you,
Mark George, CRMC Chairman"

Fran sounds like the perfect mentor, friend and racer to inspire women to be interested in bikes and racing. She also sounds like an amazing mum, partner and friend. While I didn’t know her, my heart is broken for all those she left behind. It was obvious at Brands just how amazing she was. Heartfelt and sincere condolences x

Tragic reality check for all racers, that doing the thing we love sometimes includes paying the ultimate price.
There are no words that are suitable to express how sad the CRMC family are to have lost such a great lady.
Sincerest condolences to Fran's family from everyone involved with 'Arij Racing Team.

Fran provided such inspiration and support for my solo adventure into the solo FZ experience! So glad I got to have a girly hug and say hello on Saturday; I didn't expect to say goodbye indefinitely on the same day. Will miss her support and face in the paddock. xx

Shocked and very sad to learn of Fran's death. Only met a few times but she was always cheerful and easy-going, even when we got it wrong. Didn't look like a bike racer but put in some very creditable performances on the track.
