Alex Sinclair and family lose their caravan and gear
Sadly some low-life has stolen Ian Sinclair's caravan off his driveway. As if that wasn't bad enough, they had all just returned from a successful Classic TT, so in addition to losing their caravan, the caravan contained Alex's riding kit. He has lost:
3 Arai helmets, one of which was a brand new Chaser V in white, large size
1 pair Daytona Evo boots with 2 pairs of black outers
1 pair of brand new Alpinestar leathers in black/white size 42or44
1 pair of new Alpinestar gp gloves black/white
1 pair Alpinestar monster energy gloves in black
about 6 Arai Moto gp visors
Arai helmet bag
If you are offered anything that sounds like it might have been stolen from Alex, please let us know and we'll contact Alex or Ian.

R.I.P Graham Boothby
We are very sorry to announce that Graham Boothby of TGA Racing passed away on 30th July 2016. He was at home with friends and family and had been suffering with cancer for some time.
He was a supporter of the Classic Racing Motorcycle Club since the beginning, his club membership number was 56. He was involved in the committee in the role of Race Personnel Co-ordinator and created the eligibility role. He has remained a supporter of the CRMC throughout, even after he moved to France. His grey truck was a familiar sight at CRMC race meetings and he was a font of knowledge about everything to do with classic motorcycles and racing. Many of us have enjoyed his company (along with the almost obligatory glass of red wine) chatting about anything and everything to do with bikes and racing and everything else. He will be sorely missed; he was a great character.
This further information is on the TGA Racing website - www.tga.co.uk
His cremation will be held at 14.00, Thursday 4th August 2016:
Rue de sous le Mont
Eddy De Kayser has offered to help as much as possible with any questions and if possible please contact him by email and not to email or phone Grahams house.

RIP Lionel Meekings
Former long time CRMC member Lionel Meekins passed way on 25th April after being ill for some time. Many will remember Lionel as a competitor on a 250 Ducati and as a Clerk of the Course for the CRMC; many will also remember some great times with Lionel whilst racing in Belgium as well as in the UK.
Lionels funeral will be held at Banbury crematorium on Friday next 20th May 2016. It will be a short service and afterwards you are invited to the New Inn Pub near to where his daughter Pam lives.
There will be family flowers only but if you wish you may donate to Dogs for Good.
MyLaps and Championship results from CRMC Croft are now available
The results have been published on MyLaps, please see the Results page. CRMC Championship results have also now been published.
The CRMC's return to the Croft circuit after 9 years went brilliantly! Packed grids in all the practice sessions and races, busy parades and superb racing! The fast and technically demanding track, combined with dry (and sunny on Sunday!) weather saw many new lap records. Thanks to all the competitors, sponsors, spectators and the hard-working CRMC officials, marshals and the dedicated staff at Croft circuit for helping make it such a success.

The CRMC event at Cadwell Park is hosting THREE Camathias Cup Sidecar Races as well as FOUR CRMC Sidecar Races!

Sun, wind, rain ...and fantastic racing at CRMC Pembrey
We had it all at Pembrey circuit this weekend, as the CRMC race season kicked off. There was a good entry of almost 300 competitors who braved the weather, which was forecast to be difficult over the weekend. After a glorious Friday test day, Saturday was wet and windy, but the action on track was brilliant. All races were well supported and a packed programme including the Lansdowne series made braving the weather worthwhile.
After racing had finished, the traditional trophy presentation in the scrutineering bay saw the CRMC Clubman of the Year Trophy awarded to a very shocked and surprised Norman Crossland, who has been a scrutineer for the CRMC for over 30 years and who hadn't been able to attend the AGM and trophy presentation in December.
Sunday saw an improvement in the weather with mostly dry races - and as the track dried out, the lap times improved! What a great way to spend Easter!

New CRMC Eligibility Booklet is published

The new Eligibility Booklet is available to view and print from the Library page
Lydden Hill replaced by Snetterton
As reported below, the CRMC race at Lydden Hill had to be cancelled and after much work by our Race Manager Roger Bryant and John Davidson, another race date has been arranged at Snetterton 27-28 August 2016, using the 200 circuit.
Sadly this will clash with the popular Classic TT at the Isle of Man, but the CRMC have investigated all possible alternatives and have decided this is the best option in the circumstances to give 7 race dates in 2016.
Lydden Hill - Cancellation of our proposed September race date
Regrettably, the CRMC have had no alternative but to cancel the proposed race meeting at Lydden Hill on September 3rd and 4th, because a new noise restriction has been imposed on the circuit by Dover Council that has limited noise levels to 100db.
We are currently investigating alternative options elsewhere and will publish details here shortly.
CRMC Shop Online - just in time for Christmas!
We are pleased to open the CRMC Shop to buy CRMC embroidered t-shirts, CRMC fleeces, CRMC beanies, CRMC zoodies. These are the same quality garments you can buy at CRMC race events.

RIP Keith Millar
"With great sadness I have to report that Keith Millar, husband of long time race secretary Brenda Millar, lost his life on Sunday 25th October 2015 following a collision with a parked car having ridden to the local paper shop close to his home at Shoreham in Sussex on his push bike .
Keith was well known amongst the CRMC fraternity for his immaculate BMW outfit which he built with the help of his friend and fellow sidecar racer Peter Krukowski. He raced for a number of seasons with the club and supported Brenda in her work as CRMC race secretary for many years . Following Brenda's retirement from the post they were both made Honorary Members of CRMC and very deservedly so.
In his career Keith lived in Crawley Sussex where he worked for Metal Box Company and I believe APV. Since retiring from full time employment he continued working part time at a smaller specialized engineering firm where his expertise as a skilled engineer was very much appreciated.
Apart from building brilliant scale model engines and sidecar outfits, Keith liked guitars and he had a small collection which, as he put it, he "played after a fashion". Both he and Brenda loved Rock and Roll and often spent evenings with their great friends the Fifords amongst others at Rock and Roll dance evenings .
I know Keith would have been the first to say you just don't know whats around the corner but in his time Keith got around many corners, working hard when skilled engineers didn't get paid a lot to bring up a family, building and racing his own outfit on a limited budget, supporting his family through thick and thin and believing in the tradition of family, that's what makes the measure of a man.
From his many friends our sympathies go out to Brenda and the family. Keep it on the black stuff Keith RIP"

"Milky" actor Andrew Shim takes on new role with Spencer Racing race team
American born actor Andrew Shim, who plays 'Milky' in the 'This is England' television series and has starred in numerous films has taken on a new role with Worksop based Spencer Racing.
An MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighter too, Andrew has got himself a ride on one of Spencer Racing's Yamaha 600 bikes. Having raced both cars and bikes in the past he wanted to return to bike racing and was introduced to Spencer Racing by one of their riders Pete Weston. A bike was offered for the season and Andrew will contest the CRMC (Classic Motorcycle Racing Club) Championship series next year alongside team members Paul Rogers, Erv' Wallace, Terry Brocklehurst, Pete Weston, Jenny Westwood, Steve Panter and Martin Dyke. Other riders appear alongside the regular riders throughout the season for 'one off' and guest rides.
The team run mostly Yamaha bikes but have numerous other bikes, over 30 in total, including a very rare Suzuki 250 from 1978 and a 1971 Garelli 50 Grand Prix bike, one of only two ever made. The team is owned and managed by Susannah Spencer who was the last Miss Motorcycle News in her modelling days.

Endurance Legends Season Finale just got bigger!
Following demand from the ranks, the organisers of the 4 hour CRMC-run endurance race at Snetterton have announced a third class of bikes will be eligible.
Currently any bike registered with the CRMC above 247cc is eligible; 247 - 750 cc bikes being classed as Formula 1 and 271 - 1300cc machines as Formula 2. The new class will enable teams entering 600 Production machines to run two bikes under the same number, swapping the team's transponder between the machines.
The logic here is that the most popular machine in the class, the Yamaha FZ600, would be stopping for oil more regularly than fuel which was causing potential teams some considerable concern. So maybe not quite in the spirit of an 'endurance' race but if it helps fill the grid and establish the event as an annual fixture the organisers are prepared to run with it for this year.
So you 600 Production boys (and girls!), let's see the colour of your money and get entering. And there's no truth in the rumour Ken Inwood is already stocking up on Yamlube...

The 'Moustached Bandit' Lost His 'Tash - You Gave Generously!!
Sidecar Bloke Ian Johnson is well known in the CRMC race paddock - firstly for being one of those odd chaps that enjoy racing with too many wheels, and secondly for sporting a slightly retro-style "Mexican" (aka 70's porn star!) moustache!
So news that he intended to shave it off was special news indeed.
On a slightly more serious note, Ian was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year and underwent Brachytherapy treatment (Brachytherapy is one type of radiation therapy used to treat cancer). Keen to raise awareness and money for Prostate Cancer UK, Ian thought he would take this brave step of shaving off his moustache and Michelle Luhr has set up a Just Giving page for any donations, with a target to raise £1,500 for this worthwhile cause. To make a donation please go to: https://www.justgiving.com/Michelle-Luhr/
If you didn't go to the CRMC Donington Classic Festival on 8 August 2015, you missed the big shave! But we are pleased to report that he has raised over £1,500! We'll try and get a picture here soon - well done Ian!
